Gemini System – Plastic Cyclonic Inlet Stem

STANDARD FOR PAPER BAG UNITS, OPTIONAL when converting a cyclonic unit to paper bag (BIF125)

This power unit comes equipped with the new Gemini capability. This power unit is supplied with a plastic inlet stem and clamp coupling that is to be used to connect your central vacuum tubing to your power unit. This new inlet stem has been designed to make the installation and maintenance of our power units easier. Use this inlet stem in place of where you previously inserted a piece of PVC tubing into the hole in the side of the power unit.
To install:
Choose the side of the unit that you would like to connect your tubing to. Insert the inlet stem all the way into the canister. There is a small hook that protrudes from the flange of the inlet stem. Rotate the inlet stem so that the hook on the side of the flange lines up and points to 9 o’clock. Then, attach clamp coupling to the plastic inlet stem by tightening the screw on the coupling. Your PVC tubing will attach to the other end of the clamp coupling.

 STANDARD IN INVERTED BAG & CYCLONIC UNITS (VIF125)

This power unit comes equipped with the new Gemini capability. The power unit is supplied with a special inlet stem that allows you to choose which side of the unit to install from. Use this inlet stem and clamp coupling to connect your central vacuum tubing to your power unit.

To install: Once you have chosen a side, fully insert the plastic inlet stem into the hole of the chosen side of the can. There is a small hook that protrudes from the flange of the inlet stem. Rotate the inlet stem so that the hook on the side of the flange lines up and points to 9 o’clock (see figure 1a).
Then, attach clamp coupling to the plastic inlet stem by tightening the screw on the coupling. Your PVC tubing will attach to the other end of the clamp coupling.
Next, it is important that you also plug the hole on the other side of the can. Included with the inlet stem and clamp coupling, you will find a plastic vacuum plug. Use this to plug the hole by simply inserting it into the side of the can.
This inlet stem replaces the metal stem previously on the side of the canister.
NOTE: Do not insert the inlet stem into the can until you are sure which side you want to install to. The inlet stem is designed to be permanent. Once inserted, it will not be easily removed.
